Description: Reviewed and Revised June 2005. Trainer's and Participant's manuals for a 6-hour health care provider training developed within the Tribal BEAR Project. Content includes a review of risk factors associated with contracting HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) as they relate to American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. This curriculum provides health care providers with information and skills to improve communication with patients in regard to the prevention, care, and treatment of HIV and other STIs, and is designed to support efforts to minimize the impact of STIs, including HIV, on Native communities.
