Description: Reviewed and Revised June 2005. Trainer's and Participant's manuals for a
6-hour health care provider training developed within the Tribal BEAR
Project. Content includes a review of risk factors associated with
contracting HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) as they relate to
American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. This curriculum provides
health care providers with information and skills to improve communication
with patients in regard to the prevention, care, and treatment of HIV and
other STIs, and is designed to support efforts to minimize the impact of
STIs, including HIV, on Native communities.
