Module 3: Oral Concerns for HIV Patient Care
The main goal of Module 3 is to appreciate the importance of oral health in total
patient care. The "HIV Diagnosis and the Oral Cavity", "Oral Health and HIV
Disease", Patient Management and Case Presentation", and "New Classifications of
Dental Disease" PowerPoint presentations will outline the goals for health care
providers for HIV patient care such as treating pain, eliminating sources of
infection, and identifying/diagnosing pathology, facilitating maintenance of
adequate nutrition by stabilizing and preserving oral tissues and restoring chewing
function.
