	Al-Anon/Alateen Following the steps, traditions, and concepts of Alcoholics Anonymous, Alateen is an alcohol recovery program for young people, while Al-Anon's purpose is to help families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the problem drinking of a relative or friend. 	Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) An informal society of more than 2 million recovered alcoholics in the United States, Canada, and other countries. Site in English, French, and Spanish.

	Association for Medical Education and Research in Substance Abuse (AMERSA) An association of multidisciplinary health care professionals in the field of substance abuse dedicated to improving research and education about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
	Center for Alcohol and Addictions Studies At Brown University. Information on training, research, plus links and medical resources.
	DanceSafe Harm reduction site promoting health and safety within the rave and nightclub community. Focus is on ecstasy (MDMA) and other club drugs. Outreach materials can be downloaded or ordered online.
	Harm Reduction Coalition (HRC) Committed to reducing drug-related harm among individuals and communities by initiating and promoting local, regional, and national harm reduction education, interventions, and community organizing.
	International Harm Reduction Association An international professional association for individuals and associations concerned with the development of drug policies to reduce the harmful consequences of drug use.
	International Harm Reduction Development Program (IHRD) A project of the Open Society Institute, IHRD's mission is to diminish the individual and social harms associated with drug use--particularly the risk of HIV infection--through innovative measures based on the philosophy of harm reduction. IHRD currently supports more than 180 projects in over 20 countries in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
	Learn the Link A campaign by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) targeting teens. Includes PSAs, posters, e-cards and Spanish language features.
	Me Not Meth A campaign by the California Methamphetamine Initiative (CMI), a three-year statewide effort created by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP) to reduce the abuse of methamphetamine by Californians. Site include interactive are where users can post their stories. Includes state-wide resource directory for recovery and treatment services.

	Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) A membership-based non-profit research and educational organization assisting scientists to design, fund, obtain approval for and report on studies into the risks and benefits of MDMA, psychedelic drugs and marijuana.
	Narcotics Anonymous (NA) Narcotics Anonymous is an international, community-based association of recovering drug addicts with more than 28,000 weekly meetings in 113 countries. Sites also exist for Cocaine Anonymous , Crystal Meth Anonymous , and Marijuana Anonymous .
	National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information (NCADI) The world's largest resource for current information and materials concerning substance abuse. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA.)
	National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) One of the National Institutes of Health, with information on publications, research programs, and alcohol-related FAQs.
	National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) One of the National Institutes of Health, features information on drugs of abuse, drug-related legislation, and more.
	Parents: The Anti Drug Website of the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign, an initiative of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, to equip parents and other adult caregivers with the tools they need to raise drug-free kids.
	Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) An agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Its mission is focused on building resilience and facilitating recovery for people with or at risk for mental or substance use disorders. SAMHSA is one of the federal funders of AIDS service organizations in the U.S.

	Teen Drug Abuse Dedicated to helping fight teen substance abuse through prevention, intervention, and support.

	Cato Institute A nonpartisan public policy research foundation headquartered in Washington, D.C., areas of focus include the "drug war."
	Center for Cognitive Liberty and Ethics An international nonprofit association of people working in the public interest to protect the fundamental right to freedom of the mind, including altered states of consciousness.
	Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Enforces the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United States.
	The Drug Library Online library of drug policy from the Drug Reform Coordination Network.
	Drug Policy Alliance Organization working to broaden the public debate on drug policy and to promote realistic alternatives to the war on drugs based on science, compassion, public health, and human rights. The Alliance was formerly known as The Lindesmith Center - Drug Policy Foundation.

	Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) A component of the Executive Office of the President, establishes policies, priorities, and objectives for the U.S. drug control program.
	RAND's Drug Policy Research Center Conducts research to help community leaders and public officials develop more effective ways of dealing with drug problems by providing an empirical foundation on which sound policies can be built.
	Substance Abuse Policy Research Program Robert Wood Johnson Foundation program that funds substance abuse policy research to reduce the harm caused by alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drugs in the U.S.
	United Nations Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention (ODCCP) Works to educate the world about the dangers of drug abuse and to strengthen international action against drug production, trafficking, and drug-related crime through alternative development projects, crop monitoring, and anti-money laundering programs. Also provides accurate statistics through the Global Assessment Programme (GAP) and helps to draft legislation and train judicial officials as part of its Legal Assistance Programme.
