Define the scope and objectives for the evaluation at the outset
Link existing and new data to compile a complete understanding of training processes and outcomes
Use follow-up techniques to assess change
Involve stakeholders in evaluation design
Consider available resources when planning data collection and analysis
Use innovative methods such as email and assessment of patient perceptions of care
Use experience from prior evaluation attempts to tailor future ones
