AETC National Multicultural Center
Infrastructure Management (IM) training offered by the National Minority AETC addresses three primary areas of clinical support: Clinical Information Systems, Financial Management, and Organizational Development. Based on years of research, NMAETC has determined that these areas represent the three most critical clinical support components essential to the delivery of consistent and efficient treatment regimens to patients. More specifically, these components include, but are not limited to, delivery system design, financial support systems, disaster recovery procedures, health record management, patient confidentiality, and a host of other inputs which are often challenging within resource poor settings.
To meet IM challenges, the NMAETC continues to develop training packages designed to strengthen and support systemic and operational infrastructure. Based in part on the Health Resource and Service Administration's Chronic Care Model, the NMAETC has expanded its IM offerings to include two new components for HIV healthcare organizations seeking to increase the capacity of their clinical operations. New for the 2008/2009 project year are:
|
OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens
Training for Dental Office Staff This training focuses on the two major categories which can impose major obligations for dental offices: Blood borne Pathogens Standard and the Hazard Communications Standard. The module also covers standards regarding Infection Control in Dental Healthcare Settings.

Continuous Quality Initiative
Training (CQI) (Clinical and Non-Clinical Operations) This training module provides a basic introduction to CQI for HIV care. Providers and staff who have had no or very limited exposure to CQI concepts as they relate to HIV will find this training invaluable. CQI training modules for clinical and non-clinical operations are offered.

Both offerings can be packaged with existing clinical training resources offered through the nationwide AETC network. These sessions will provide healthcare providers with powerful and comprehensive training designed to enhance their skill set and improve their HIV care delivery within communities of color.
