HIV Testing
In September 2006, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released
Revised Recommendations for HIV Testing of Adults, Adolescents, and Pregnant Women in Health-Care Settings
. As a result, the AETCs were awarded funding as part of the AETC HIV Recommendations Training Initiative to offer training and technical assistance for healthcare providers to facilitate the adoption of the new recommendations.
This funding also supports the development of tools and resources which are available within the HIV Testing section of this website. The AETC National Resource Center also supports the AETCs in the implementation of this initiative by coordinating the AETC HIV Testing Training Exchange Collaborative. The Collaborative provides an opportunity to share resources, discuss implementation issues, and offer feedback.
