Fernando García, MD

Fernando García is a physician with the Valley AIDS Council in several cities along the border, from McAllen to Brownsville Texas, north of Tamaulipas, Mexico. He is also very active in the Mexican cities along this border, including Reynosa and Matamoros. He has been extremely active in education programs for physicians on both sides of the border and has helped establish quarterly meetings where these physicians can meet and discuss issues of concern for treating binational patients. He works closely with the Texas-Oklahoma Education and Training Center, and serves on the Texas AIDS Drug Assistance Program and on several Advisory Boards for U.S. federal agencies including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Health Resources and Services Administration.
