Border HIV Hero / Héro VIH de la Frontera: Ann Khalsa, MD, MS El Paso, TexasAnn Khalsa is a physician practicing in El Paso, Texas, where she is the medical director of the La Fe CARE Center, the largest HIV clinic in the city. Since she joined the clinic, in 2005, she has almost doubled the number of clients and has expanded access to salvage therapies, cancer therapies, and facial lipoatrophy injections. Dr Khalsa has been working with the AIDS Education and Training Centers for 17 years and is now affiliated with the Texas-Oklahoma AETC. She works closely with her colleagues across the border in Ciudad Juarez to help ensure continuum of care for binational patients. Links | |
