	mental health AIDS: Fall 2009 [Online] Source: Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) of the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Date: 09/2009 Note: This issue's "tool box": Psychotherapy Select: The Science of Matching Clients to Treatment. In this tool box, a new instrument for identifying individuals who are "ready" for therapy is introduced. The discussion then centers on research findings that can help to promote productive matches between clinicians and clients. These findings also can help clinicians to select the type of therapy that holds the greatest promise for a positive clinical outcome. The tool box concludes with a focus on the development of an HIV-related pain management intervention and client characteristics associated with beneficial results.

	Updated Guidelines for Prevention and Treatment of OIs in HIV-infected Children [Online] Source: U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; nih; Infectious Disease Society of America; Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society and American Academy of Pediatrics Date: 08/26/2009 Note: Updated guidelines for pediatricians and other health care professionals who care for children living with HIV or have been exposed to the virus have been released. The guidelines, which were released in the August 26, 2009 issue of the MMWR, provide recommendations for the most effective ways to diagnose, prevent, and treat opportunistic infections (OIs). The guidelines were developed by officials from the CDC, NIH, HIV Medicine Association of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, and American Academy of Pediatrics.
