Topics include antiretrovirals, adherence, resistance testing, hepatitis C, substance abuse and mental health, and care of women.

	Motivational Interviewing and HIV: Reducing Risk, Inspiring Change [PDF and print] Source: Mountain Plains AETC Date: 08/2009 Note: The guide covers key points for motivational interviewing as well as examples and key insights to assessing patient risk, risk reduction counseling and inspiring behavior change. Content includes sample questions and tips for assessing patient engagement in behavior change.

eHIVQUAL to be Launched Soon

Note: This fall, the HIVQUAL-US program will be launching eHIVQUAL, a web-based tool for the collection and analysis of health care data for quality management. HIVQUAL-US is a model for building capacity for quality management that is designed to improve care for people living with HIV developed by the NY State Department of Health AIDS Institute in partnership with HRSA/HAB. It is funded through a cooperative agreement with HRSA/HAB.

eHIVQUAL allows HIV providers to generate pre-programmed reports with filtering capabilities that are useful in managing the quality of HIV care. Similar to the previous MS Access-based versions, eHIVQUAL uses a performance measurement strategy based on a sampling methodology. The new application also allows importing of data from other systems and the reports are instantly exportable through multiple formats.

The HIVQUAL-US program offers multiple services at no cost to Ryan White Part C- and Part D-funded clinics.
