Description: These modules designed to equip correctional nurses with the basic knowledge needed to provide safe, comprehensive care to inmates infected with HIV. Each module provides an overview of a pertinent topic so that correctional nurses have a reference tool readily available for their care of HIV-infected inmates. Topics include HIV pathogenesis, medications, adherence and resistance, hepatitis C and HIV, health maintenance, current issues, and mental health issues. Recent modules offer CNE credit.

dotAAHIVM Launches Online Resource to Link Newly Diagnosed to HIV Care [MS Word]

Note: The American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM), through funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has launched a pilot referral resource for health providers that routinely offer HIV testing as a normal part of medical practice. Housed on the AAHIVM Web site (www.aahivm.org), Referral Link is designed to provide referral information for all HIV service providers in each of the six pilot cities. The cities include Baton Rouge, LA; Cochise County, AZ; Cleveland, OH; Columbia, SC; Sacramento, CA; and Tampa, FL. For these cities, information for all HIV medical care providers in the area is available. The contact information, provider Website, referral, and practice information for each provider is listed.

Note: The AETC Adult Learning Workgroup is updating the AETC Expert List with a focus on identifying adult learning experts within our network. Experts identified on this list may be asked to 1) speak at an event, 2) review educational materials on adult learning, and/or 3) offer technical assistance to their AETC colleagues. This information will be housed on the AETC National Resource Center website (www.aidsetc.org) in the AETC Only area - the password protected section of the website.
