Note: In 2008, 5.6 million veterans were treated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. About one in every 250 veterans in care at the VA is living with HIV/AIDS. These are among a host of observations about veterans living with HIV/AIDS in The State of Care for Veterans with HIV/AIDS, a report by the VA's Veterans Health Administration and its Public Health Strategic Healthcare Group. Chapters cover demographics, treatment and common conditions among veterans living with HIV/AIDS, and services provided to veterans.
