In an effort to advance a national standard of excellence and minimize duplication of locally-produced training materials, the AETC National Resource Center (NRC) has developed a process for reviewing and posting provider education materials. Most materials can be downloaded directly from the website and we are always interested in submissions of new educational materials.

PROVIDER EDUCATION MATERIALS SUBMISSION PROCESS
Everyone is encouraged to submit HIV/AIDS provider education materials for review and posting on this website. Submissions take many forms: whole curricula, case studies, videos, PowerPoint slide presentations, one-page handouts, images, etc. Our goal is to promote a national standard of excellence in HIV education and to minimize duplication of locally produced training materials. Many materials developed locally are of enormous value to a broader educator community. We encourage you to share your training materials with the National Resource Center and to make them accessible via the NRC website.

Electronic Submissions:
In order to make full use of our website we would like to receive all submissions in electronic format. Formats that we are capable of reading and disseminating are: Word, WordPerfect, PowerPoint, Adobe Portable Document File (.PDF). URLs to web sites containing the materials are also acceptable. Submissions may be emailed to nrc@hektoen.org or send a floppy disk, zip disk or CD to:

Print Submissions:
Due to the logistics of the submission and review process, review of print submissions will be limited to only highly promising materials not available in one of the above named electronic formats. These will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Materials that fit in this category should be sent to the above address: four copies will be required. If you have any questions about this restriction, please contact us.

PROVIDER EDUCATION MATERIALS REVIEW PROCESS
Under the leadership of a nucleus of experts from the CORE Center and Rush Medical College in Chicago who advise and facilitate the review process, all materials submitted are sent to three independent reviewers. Reviewers are from across the country and have experience and expertise as HIV/AIDS providers and trainers. Many are affiliated with AETCs. Materials are reviewed and evaluated according to several key criteria: scientific accuracy, national scope, currency, and utility as a teaching tool or as part of a teaching package. Those materials successfully completing the review process will be included in the on-line catalog of professional training materials endorsed by the NRC.

The criteria for provider materials review process

- Scientific accuracy
- National scope
- Currency
- Utility as a teaching tool

Materials successfully completing the review process are listed on the NRC website; whenever possible these materials available on the web site so that they may be downloaded in a format useful to the AETCs and others.
