Description:

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention and the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center (FXB), School of Nursing at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey sponsored a one-day working group on the preconception and reproductive health needs of women living with HIV. The goal of the meeting was to develop strategies to improve preconception and reproductive health care through the integration of HIV management with reproductive health and family planning services for women with HIV infection. Recommendations from 32 experts from various governmental agencies, academic institutions, and community representatives are assembled in the report, which has undergone clearance by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control amp; Prevention. The recommendations prescribe actions to improve reproductive and preconception care of women living with HIV in the United States across a spectrum of program, policy, and research issues.
