Clinical Mentoring Toolkit

Date: 07/2008
Source: International Training and Education Center on HIV (I-TECH)

Clinical Mentoring Toolkit Web page

Description:

The I-TECH Clinical Mentoring Toolkit has undergone major revision and reorganization, reflecting I-TECH's rich experience in implementing clinical mentoring programs over the past several years. Many new documents and resources have been added to this new version, and a number of clinical mentors with extensive field experience have contributed their technical assistance, including bedside teaching tools and content reviews of all materials, for accuracy and relevance.

Like the previous version of the toolkit, the new version is available both online and on CD-ROM, for maximum accessibility.

Largely case-based, the new toolkit features:

dotA revised, easy-to-use structure organized by distinct target audiences, including clinical mentoring program planners, trainers of clinical mentors, and clinical mentors themselves.
space
dotA 3-day curriculum for training mentors.
space
dotCountry profiles of I-TECH clinical mentoring programs.
space
dotExpanded resources and references on strategies for clinical teaching.
space
dotScenarios that detail systems and resource issues commonly encountered by mentors, and strategies for addressing these issues.
space
dotA resource library with copies of clinical guidelines from the World Health Organization and Médecins sans Frontières, as well as useful articles from scientific and pedagogical literature.
