Consumer Review

Careful attention has been paid to ensure that consumer reviewers are representative of the diversity of regions and communities throughout the country. National, state and local consumer organizations assist the NRC in identifying consumer reviewers. Consumers from across the country are engaged on an ongoing basis through contacts with national, state and local consumer organizations. The agencies listed below are each assisting the NRC to network with local consumer organizations and consumers across the country to identify volunteers to review NRC patient education materials. It is important to note that consumer reviews represent the opinions of the individuals as persons living with HIV and not those of the agencies listed below. The agency descriptions were excerpted from agency websites with permission or, were submitted from the agency liaison to the NRC:

"The AIDS Treatment Data Network (The Network) is an independent, national, not-for-profit organization that provides AIDS treatment information, counseling, case management and advocacy services to people with AIDS and their providers. The nationwide toll-free number is (800) 734-7104. All materials and frequently updated information are available at www.aidsinfonyc.org."

"Community Research Initiative on AIDS (CRIA) is an independent, non- profit, community-based AIDS research and treatment education organization dedicated to improving the length and quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS. CRIA studies new treatments for HIV and HIV-related conditions through its clinical research.
