PROVIDER EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS

evaluation criteria directions for submitting materials
materials pending review reviewed and endorsed materials
review panels

In an effort to advance a standard of excellence and minimize duplication of locally produced training materials the NRC has developed a process for reviewing, posting and endorsing training materials on the web site. Under the leadership of the CORE Center and Rush Medical College in Chicago five review sections in key areas of HIV/AIDS care have been developed and serve in a fashion analogous to a journal editorial board. The section chairs, who have established credentials as HIV/AIDS providers and trainers, will advise and facilitate the review process. The materials submitted are sent to three independent reviewers. Reviewers, who also have experience and expertise as HIV/AIDS providers and trainers, have been recruited from across the country; many are affiliated with AETCs.

The criteria for provider materials review process

  • scientific accuracy
  • national scope
  • currency
  • utility as a teaching tool
Materials successfully completing the review process are listed on the NRC website. The NRC ultimately plans to make these materials available on the web site so that they may be downloaded in a format useful to the AETCs and others.

Organizations are encouraged to submit training materials for review. Please follow the instructions that are posted on the NRC website or call the CORE Center for more information at (312)-633-8222.
