Provider Education Materials Review

In an effort to advance a national standard of excellence and minimize duplication of locally-produced training materials, the AETC National Resource Center (NRC) has developed a process for reviewing and endorsing training materials. Under the leadership of the CORE Center and Rush Medical College in Chicago, five review sections in key areas of HIV/AIDS care have been developed. The section chairs, who have established credentials as HIV/AIDS providers and trainers, will advise and facilitate the review process. All materials submitted will be sent to three independent reviewers, all of whom also have experience and expertise as HIV/AIDS providers and trainers and have been recruited from across the country. Many are affiliated with AETCs. Materials will be reviewed and evaluated according to several key criteria: scientific accuracy, national scope, currency, and utility as a teaching tool or as part of a teaching package. Those materials successfully completing the review process will be included in the on-line catalog of professional training materials endorsed by the NRC.
