This pamphlet explains: what toxoplasmosis (toxo) is, how it can be transmitted and how patients can protect themselves from contracting it.
SYNOPSIS OF CONSUMER REVIEW:
One reviewer said this material provided "a clear explanation of how toxo can hide (in inactive tissue)" and after reading this she said she was "interested in meeting with her doctor about this." Another reviewer said this piece was the right length, but that it needed more information about how the symptoms of toxo can be similar to side effects from HIV medication. The reviewers recommend this be distributed to caregivers of people living with HIV and the general population of people with HIV, especially those newly diagnosed.
