   In the previous case an oral lesion (see photo) was diagnosed as Atrophic Candidiasis of the Tongue.

   A 35-year-old African American male, with a CD4 count of 150 cells/mm3 and a viral load of 7,000 copies/mL, presents with the chief complaint of a burning tongue, which has been present for one week.
