Issues Safety Alert on Unapproved Goat Serum Treatment for HIV/AIDS
[Press Release by the FDA, December 22, 2000]:
The FDA reports that Dr. Gary Davis notified the agency that a batch
of goat antiserum for treatment of HIV has been stolen from a storage
facility in Raleigh, NC. This product is not approved for treatment
of HIV or for any other condition, it is considered to have "the
potential to be extremely dangerous." It has been labeled "contaminated
medication." Questions about this should be directed to the FDA
