Federal HIV/AIDS Spending: A Budget Chartbook, Fiscal Year 2000 [AIDS Reference Guide, December 2000, p. 301]: The AIDS Reference Guide has reprinted a "chartbook" of federal funding for HIV that was prepared by the Federal Legislation Clinic of the Georgetown University Law Center for the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation. The total HIV-related spending for FY2000 was $10.8 billion, which represents 0.6% of total federal spending of $1,856 billion. Medical care accounted for 70.6%, which totaled $7,645 million for federal spending; the total for medical care was $9,545 billion when including the state share of Medicaid spending. Details are provided in the tables below:
