Reasons for Modification and Discontinuation of Antiretrovirals: Results from a Single Treatment Center [Mocroft A, et al. AIDS 2001; 15:185]: This is a single center study from the Royal Free Hospital concerning 556 patients who were passively analyzed to determine the frequency of regimen changes at a median of 14 months after starting HAART. Modifications in the regimen were noted in 247 patients (44%), 72 (29%) due to virologic failure, and 159 (64%) due to toxicity/patient choice; 148 patients (26%) discontinued HAART and the rest changed to a new regimen.
