HIV Budget for FY 2002 (OMB, FY 2002 Budget, April 2001):
The DHHS Budget for fiscal year 2002 includes a 12% increase for NIH-sponsored HIV research, for a total of $2.2 billion. There is a proposed 4% overall reduction in CDC funding, but a proposed increase of 3% for HIV prevention programs. Ryan White funding was neither cut nor increased and will hold steady at $1.8 billion.
