China Warned of AIDS "Disaster" [Nature 2000;405:721]: This is a brief review in Nature "News" of a report by Zeng Yi, Director of the Institute of Demographical Research at the University of Beijing, to the Chinese Academy of Sciences stating that AIDS threatens all progress that had been achieved with economic reforms and opening to the West. He also noted that China had little investment in scientific research in this area and that attitude problems limited prevention efforts. posted 7/3/2000
