NEWS AND NEW DEVELOPMENTS



FDA approved a once-daily new formulation of ddI: On October 31, the FDA announced approval of a new formulation of ddI that will be given once daily and does not require the buffering that was responsible for multiple drug interactions with the prior formulation. Videx EC is also relatively free of GI intolerance. The standard recommended dose is 400 mg, as one capsule, given daily without regard to meals.
