National Quality Center

Program Description

Since its inception in 2004, the National Quality Center (NQC) has provided leadership and support in quality improvement for Ryan White Program-funded grantees nationwide. Funded through a cooperative agreement by the HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau with the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute, NQC was founded to nationally meet the needs of Ryan White Program grantees, across all Parts and providers, for technical assistance in quality improvement.

Sharing

NQC shares many quality improvement resources through multiple channels.

dotNationalQualityCenter.org hosts comprehensive, up-to-date quality management resources for HIV providers as well as consumers and currently features over 180 documents. The website also lists many quality improvement activities and programs NQC offers to grantees.

dotNQC exhibits at key HIV conferences to distribute quality management materials and meet with providers and other stakeholders.

dotNQC promotes its activities to grantees through a monthly newsletter and other direct mailing efforts. To subscribe to the monthly newsletter, simply send an email to: news-join@NationalQualityCenter.org

Training

NQC provides several training and educational fora on a wide array of quality-related topics.

dotNational technical assistance calls are provided on a wide array of quality improvement topics, and recordings are posted on NQC website.

dotThe NQC Quality Academy offers over 30 tutorials on various subjects in quality improvement. These tutorials are narrated and interactive thereby enhancing the learning experience. Several of these tutorials are available in Spanish.

dotNQC has developed several training programs to build capacity for quality management training and skill development in quality improvement, including:

dotThe Training-the-Trainer (TOT) Program, the Training of Quality Leaders (TQL) Program and the Training on Coaching Basics (TCB) Program

Consulting

NQC provides individual technical assistance to Ryan White Grantees of all Parts.

dotIntensive, individualized on-site and off-site consultative services are available to grantees by national quality improvement experts.

dotNQC consultants have extensive field experience in both HIV care and quality improvement and are carefully matched with grantees to deliver expert assistance in a culturally appropriate manner.
